Dr. Syeda Rifat Mahmud
Curator of Compassion & Clinical Insight – Care for Caregivers, MindwizzDr. Syeda Rifat Mahmud is a physician and Senior Medical Officer at the Coronary Care Unit of Popular Medical College & Hospital. With clinical experience from Dhaka Medical College and Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital, she’s currently pursuing FCPS (Part II) in Neurology, blending medical expertise with a deep interest in the emotional and neurobiological aspects of care.
A passionate advocate for compassionate healthcare, Dr. Rifat has led talks on the neurobiology of depression, anxiety, and stress. As Curator of Compassion & Clinical Insight for the Care for Caregivers initiative, she ensures the project remains rooted in empathy and evidence.
Beyond medicine, she’s a seasoned public health volunteer and the founder of a photography project exploring human connection. Her work centers on one belief: that healing begins with truly seeing the caregiver behind the care.

I am a passionate psychology student with a strong interest in mental health awareness, emotional well-being, and community support. Currently pursuing my academic journey in psychology, I am dedicated to understanding human behavior and promoting positive mental health practices.
Alongside my studies, I serve as a helpline associate role (The purpleline) where I provide empathetic listening, emotional support, and crisis response to individuals in need. This role has deepened my skills in active listening, communication, and compassionate care, and has strengthened my commitment to making a meaningful difference in people's lives.
